The stage was finally his.

This was his chance to show the world what he had, what he was made of, what he had to offer. His worth was put up on display for everyone to see, and it didn’t disappoint. The crowd chanted behind him, and it felt like he could change the whole world with just a song.

The validation of others was his in the palm of his hands, and yet it felt hollow.

We turned on the neon light above him, it flickered and strained to emit even the smallest amount of light. It made a lot of noise for so little, and unlike other light it held no warmth. It was hollow, and yet it could burn if shattered.

That was him.

That is, without her, nothing mattered. It wasn’t until he got everything he wanted, that he realized what truly mattered. He had to get her back, he needed to make amends.

Would she forgive him?

WHERE IT BEGAN

You’ll hear a lot of difference between the “I Am Neon” demo and it’s final. This was a very early take, where Eloy was still working out the cadence and some of the lyrics. The foundation is there, though, and it’s a great showing for a demo.
